Ingredients For the Crust:
- ¾ cup cassava flour
- ½ cup arrowroot powder (or tapioca flour)
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ cup warm water
For Toppings (customize to your preference):
- tomato sauce pesto sauce or pizza sauce provolone or mozzarella cheese sliced vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.)
- protein of choice (chicken, sausage, meat of choice, etc.) fresh herbs (basil, oregano, etc.)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 220°C and line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper. Or use a pizza stone or pizza pan.

In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients (cassava flour, tapioca flour or arrowroot starch, sea salt, and garlic powder).

In a separate bowl stir together the egg, olive oil, and warm water.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a sticky dough forms. Let the pizza dough rest for 10 minutes at room temperature.

Sprinkle a few tablespoons of tapioca starch or flour onto the lined pan. Use flour-dusted hands to handle the dough and shape it into a ball, then flatten it until it’s about 12mm thick.

Lightly brush olive oil over the crust and prebake the crust for 12-15 minutes.

Remove from oven and add your desired toppings and sauce.

Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and crust is crispy.
